Assuming this is the same 2nd Tivo that your sister gave you and was inactive, you have to wait until the Tivo realizes it has been subscribed before the HMO stuff will work.

So if you just subscribed, force connect and check the System Information screen to see if it realizes it's subscribed and enabled for transfers and downloads. The TiVoToGo line should read a,a,a . I think on a trial period box, it will read i,i,i .

correct this is the same box. and it's reading the account(in good standing) and tivo to go is a,a,a

don't know if this is related, but i just though i didn't put my media code in just yet. lets see if that does anything.

In that case, when you setup pyTivo, did you set the beacon line to be the IP of your tivo? Or did you leave it alone so that it beacons to your whole home network?

If you set the beacon line, try removing it. (Shutdown pyTivo first, change the file, start up pyTivo again.)

about beacon line, i haven't done anything to the pytivo. it worked as soon as the tivo was activated.
