Auto timer and channel select without record ?

Is there a way to create a command that changes the channel at a previously set time without recording ? I have a timer in my sat receiver options which can be set to change to a particular channel either just once, once/wk., Mon-Fri or everyday at a set time and channel, without recording. We like this feature and it really suits our viewing habits. I'm looking for a software 'hack' that will create this feature. Any ideas ?

Why not set a manual recording for that particular time and channel, and keep just one copy ? It accomplishes the same thing.

Look up Cestron.

The Tivo has Cestron support.

With it, you can telnet to the tivo on a specific port and force ir commands, like channel change.

I don't remember the details, but it is in these forums. All you would need to do is run a batch file scheduled by windows to do what you are looking to do.
