I got Metagenerator to work just fine but I seem to be missing a fundamental piece of data. In Windows, the file created is a .txt file. Is this file compatible with a Linux system? Also, I have the following questions:
1. Is the movie file modified in any way when you create a meta data file?
2. How does pyTivo know where to look for the meta data file?
3. Why does pyTivo know that it's suppose to look for a meta data file?
4. Can someone point me back to the basics?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's compatible. It's just a text file. (Granted, Windows prefers CRLF line endings in its text files where Linux likes LF, but pyTivo doesn't care.)
1. No.
2. It's either in the same directory as the movie, with the same name plus ".txt" (or the name "default.txt"), or it's in a subdirectory of that directory named ".meta".
3. Um, see 2.
4. Again... http://pytivo.armooo.net/wiki/MetaData _________________ My pyTivo fork
