I'm attaching a trivial patch in the hopes that one of the supporters will adopt it. I didn't like the meta files cluttering the video directories. So my patch has it also check a ".meta" subdirectory.

I realize that the dot part of ".meta" might be unix centric. I'd be happy with "meta" or a directory at the base of each share.

Thanks,
tlc

.meta is actually cool with me too, it keeps pyTivo from even opening that folder. I like the idea. But i don't relish the thought of moving all my meta files. Razz

You wouldn't have to move them. It still checks the video directory. (Video directory overrides .meta since it was first.)

Hmm... This seems cool, either it checks the old way, or it checks for a .meta folder beneath the found video file.

So if video.avi is found in the folder /Video it would search /Video and /Video/.Meta for the metadata folder eh?

Hmmm. Wish I could understand how to use that patch txt file to put it into my wgw distrubtion. (Heh, I figured out how to put in the precache stuff myself).

AFAIK, all of wgw's changes are in the other two forks at present, so there's no need to stick with it... wgw hasn't posted in ten days...
