Hi Wcmbrine, I tried this latest update but when I choose a share and go to a sufolder and then a subfolder in that folder, if I need to scroll past one page it reverts back to the main share folder and then reboots. Is there something I need to edit or perhaps remove the hack83 line? I suppose I could just limit the number of folders I browse to. I have attached the version from 1.12.08 that did allow this but didn't show the item count in the folder. [removed -- wmcbrine] Thanks |

Removing the hack83 line might stabilize it, but of course it would prevent you from going more than one level deep to begin with.
This doesn't happen for me, so it's not a universal problem. To narrow it down, you'd have to include much more information; e.g., what platform you're running on, the contents of your pyTivo.conf, what it says in the pyTivo console window when this happens, and perhaps your debug.txt if those prove inadequate.
However, posting a month-old version of pyTivo is not useful. If you want to point me to an old version and say "that one worked, now it doesn't", that might be useful, if your problem were universal -- which it isn't. But even in that case, I'd suggest you try and narrow it down by finding the last version that works (not just the one you previously used), and the first one that doesn't (not just the current one). If that sounds like a lot of work, it is -- and it's the work you're asking me to do (which I couldn't do anyway, since I can't duplicate your problem).
Please, help me to help you. _________________ My pyTivo fork |

| Sorry to have bothered you. I will just use the version I am using now. |

<sigh> Instead of giving up, why don't you just post the info I asked for? I am trying to help you (as well as anyone else who might read this).
It may be that there is no solution. hack83 seems inherently unstable, and perhaps something as simple as including the number of files in subdirectories is enough to push it over the edge in your case. But sticking with an old version is seldom the answer. _________________ My pyTivo fork |

| Ok I will try. I am not a programmer so only know half of what I am doing. I have 2 series 2 tivos. One starts with 540 the other with 240. I have attached the debug file. I am not sure what the pytivo console window says. I guess I leave that open and then run the problem? It didn't reboot this time but went back to the previous folder instead of scrolling down. I have 22 episodes in this folder. I am pretty sure my the version that I has been working was from your fork on 1.12.08 but it could have been Armoo's. You helped me with the adding hack83 back then when I could not scroll down a page. Let me know what else you need but I don't really mind using the 1.12.08 version. I just thought it might be something simple that I needed to change. I certainly didn't want to create any work for you or anyone else. Thanks again |

| I think the problem is on my end in the way that I did the shares. I use the M:\ Drive as a share and then whatever folder within that share. I just made a share directly to the my "Current" folder and stacked folders in there 3 and 4 deep with many files and had no trouble scrolling down so for whatever reason it doesn't like me listed the root drive as a share. This certainly isnt worth spending time on. I will just redo my shares. Thanks |
