I'm a bit confused about a couple things relating to metadata, movies and groups.
The information displayed by my S3 (9.2a) for a movie it recorded is different from the information I'm able to send via a pyTivo metadata file. I'm currently using pyTivo-wgw-20080217.
I realize there's probably lots of fields that pyTivo isn't currently able to send, but there's 2 specific things I'm interested in understanding...
I flipped on the TV yesterday and noticed Van Helsing was on an HD channel, so I switched to it and decided to record it. Unfortunately, I missed the first part so I looked around and noticed it was playing on a non-HD channel a couple hours later, so I scheduled that as well. Meaning I'll end up with 2 versions of "Van Helsing". Today I noticed a couple things....
1) When the TiVo records a movie, the Program screen shows:
| Code: |
Van Helsing
(2004) *** Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale...
|
and the Program Details screen shows:
| Code: |
Title Van Helsing
Description A monster hunter ....
Movie Year 2004
....
|
When I upload a movie via pyTivo, the Program screen shows (and I use "Van Helsing" just as an example):
| Code: |
Van Helsing
"Van Helsing" (2004) *** Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale...
|
and the Program Details screen shows:
| Code: |
Title Van Helsing
Episode Title Van Helsing
Description A monster hunter ....
Movie Year 2004
....
|
My metadata file only contains a "title" field... no "seriesTitle" or "episodeTitle" fields. Does pyTivo automatically add the "episodeTitle" field? If so, does it need to for a movie? Is there a way to prevent it from sending episodeTitle?
2) As I said before I missed the first part of "Van Helsing" on the HD channel so I scheduled it to record again on another channel. I expected to see 2 "Van Helsing" programs listed in the "Now Playing List", but instead the TiVo created a group called "Van Helsing". Now as I understand it, there is no SeriesID associated with movies, so how is it that the TiVo created a group?
And... more importantly, is there some way I can send the correct fields in a metadata file so if I send the same movie twice it will create a group? I actually don't care so much about sending the same movie twice, but I'm thinking that might be one step closer to creating groups based on something other then seriesID. |
