So I successfully installed pyTivo and have setup the pytivo.conf file with the following settings:

Code:
[Admin]
tivo_mak = **********
type = admin
togo_path = /Users/MattScott/TiVoShows

[MyMovies]
type = video
path = /Users/MattScott/Movies/pyTivo

[Server]
port = 9032
ffmpeg = /opt/local/bin/ffmpeg

I started pyTivo by typing 'python /Applications/pyTivo/pytivo.py' which shows the following: 'INFO:pyTivo:pyTivo is ready.'

My pyTivo share doesn't show up in my Now Playing list or anywhere else. I can access the web configuration utility, but all the drop-down boxes where the existing TiVo boxes should be listed are blank.

I have tried restarting my Tivo. I am able to access my personal network from the TiVo -- videos, pictures, and music -- but not pyTivo. How can I troubleshoot this?

I am running Mac OS 10.4 with KRKeegan's latest release of the pyTivo script.

Also, is there a "safe" way to stop the pyTivo script, or do I just close the Terminal window?

I entered my TiVo's IP address as the beacon and also turned on debugging in the pytivo.conf file. Now when I start pyTivo, I see the following:

Code:
/Applications/pyTivo/Cheetah/Compiler.py:1508: UserWarning:
You don't have the C version of NameMapper installed! I'm disabling Cheetah's useStackFrames option as it is painfully slow with the Python version of NameMapper. You should get a copy of Cheetah with the compiled C version of NameMapper.

Oh, I just checked the FAQ, and the NameMapper issue doesn't matter apparently. Looks like setting the Beacon fixed the issue, because my shares are showing up now...

Control-C will tell pyTivo to quit.
