|
|
I've tried to follow the Mac OSX install instructions, as well as various threads on the subject, but I have a lack of basic knowledge preventing me from getting things going, and although I could probably figure it out eventually, I just don't have the time. If you have successfully installed PyTivo on a Mac under 10.4.11 and are willing to help me step-by-step via IM or phone, I will pay you $50 via PayPal. If it takes more than an hour, I will pay $25 for each additional hour.
I have a Weaknees converted 1TB S3, and I do have Tivo Desktop working, having successfully converted and sent over several TV shows to my S3, but I'm dying to get Groups going so I won't have 100s of shows on the main NPL screen.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I just set my Mac 10.4.11 with pyTivo this weekend, so it's fresh on my mind. Unfortunately this week is bad, so if you haven't found someone by Saturday, I might be able to help you out. By the way, you mentioned grouping your shows -- I have a series 2 and you can set it to group shows by pressing Enter in the NPL screen. Is that option available for S3?

Thanks, Matt! I'll take you up on your offer for next weekend if no one else comes through earlier.
Groups are turned on on both my S2 and S3, but without the proper metadata (SeriesID) that only PyTivo seems to provide for, you apparently can't get transferred TV shows that were ripped from DVDs to appear in folders in the NPL on your Tivo. |

I can probably help you out.
Is your Mac an Intel Mac or a PowerPC Mac?
And what time zone are you in? I'm on the East Coast and I could probably do this tomorrow night.
The tough part it getting a decent working ffmpeg for your specific Mac processor type. |

That would be great! It's a PowerPC Mac, and I'm in Los Angeles. I've got something called ffmpegX 0.0.9y already on my Mac, but I'm not sure if that is the right program.
Feel free to email me at dcpmark at gmail dot com for further details and preferred method of help (phone or IM).
