If you go to:
| Code: | https://<ip address of your Tivo>/ |
Are you presented with a login prompt? |
They are Tivo HD units, and they did recently upgrade to 9.4. My first thought was that this upgrade may have caused the problem. But when I looked at the forums I didn't notice that it was a widespread problem.
I can browse to the ip address of my Tivos and can also login. |

| A few people have reported that after the 9.4 upgrade they had similar problems. Try logging into Tivo.com and under DVR preferences, turn off "Allow Transfers" and "Enable video downloads" and Save. Wait a few minutes then force your Tivos to net connect. Then go back into your account, re-enable the settings, Save and force another round of net connects on your Tivos. |

I did this, with high hopes. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem. But I did ultimately fix it a different way. Turns out the beacon wasn't working right. I was using the default beacon setting, which worked before, but then stopped working. When I tried using the 192.168.1.255 setting, so all the tivos on my network would work, none of them worked. They only worked when I specifically listed their ip addresses.
Hmmm. I still wonder why this changed.

Too many people are starting to report this.
Are you running Windows? If so, what variant and which service pack? |

I also had this problem... setting the beacon to the absolute address of the tivo fixed it for me (thank you, forum, for the hints!).
It used to work with the default (blank) value up until last month or so.
I also notice that pyTivo Name disappears every 30-40 seconds from the NPL but is back when I exit the NPL and return to it on the Tivo.
but at least it's working! |
