PyTivo is working and I love it. Now all I need is a utility that will transfer content from my Tivo to my PC. Does anyone know of such a program?
Thanks |

Web broswer.
Point your browser at https://<your_ip_address>/nowplaying/index.html
Once the login prompt appears, enter "tivo" as the login, and your media access key as the password. Your entire Now Playing List will appear. At the right hand side of the page will be a "Download" link for each entry that is not tagged as copy protected. |

The above method is most likely to be the most universal. Meaning it works from just about any OS, browser, etc. One other tool I've used for a long time is T2Sami. It's no where as universal/simple as the method above, but it does have some added functions. I use it because we need the closed caption extraction functions. But it also has metadata extraction, subscriptions, and some ffmpeg conversion options as well. It's got a reasonably nice UI, but it's only for Window's AFAIK. Combined with pytivo it does all, and more, that TivoDesktop did for me. _________________ Love my Tivo, but I love the independent developer's software over the "official" stuff. |

You mean something other than just TiVo Desktop?
Galleon does this ... and it has rules for auto-transfers. _________________ pyTiVo on Ubuntu 8.10 |

Thank you for your response. What IP address?
I tried the one for my PC as well as the one that Tivo Desktop states is the server IP. If I am looking for the IP of my Tivo, would you pls tell me how to obtain that info?
Thanks again |

| The IP address of the TiVo. You can go into Settings->Network, and somewhere in there it'll tell you what IP address it's using. |
