I do not use TTG very often so need a bit of help. I have 3 shows of 1 hr each on my tivo that I need to DL to my machine. I have tried using pytivo web interface and it starts transfering and gets to about 6.x GB (of 7GB) and stops. I have tried each file and get the same result. Tried directly from the tivo and get about 4GB before it stops.
Suggestions to get these programs off my Tivo HD? |

I have always used Tivo Desktop for my TTG transfers and have not run into any problems yet with 9.4 so I'm wondering if your transfers are wired or wireless? Wireless can be troublesome. Also, make sure you have about 20GB available on the destination harddrive. I don't know how pytivo responds to low disk space, but TD will pause transfers due to low disk space. _________________ Download pyTivo

You could also try the web interface. Just point your browser to https://{your TiVo IP}. Login with 'tivo' as the username and your MAK (media access key) as the password. _________________ pyTiVo on Ubuntu 8.10 |

Don't really know why but pyTivo never would transfer any of the 3 files completely, nor would the direct web interface.
I installed Tivo Desktop and it transferred all three without difficulty. At least I got the files. |

I've also run into this issue. For whatever reason, pyTivo doesn't finish downloading TTG programs requested through the web interface. I haven't done much investigating, since Mac TiVo Desktop software, TiVo Decode Manager (also a Mac app) and curl seem to download the programs just fine, but I thought I'd confirm that it's not just an isolated issue. FYI, my connection is wired and pyTivo is running on Linux Ubuntu 8.04. It's not the computer, either, since curl + tivodecode on that same machine works just fine.

My connection is also wired but pyTivo is running on a WinXP server. Its rock steady and runs 24/7 serving stuff to our tivo and other fileserver duties. All the normal pyTivo stuff like transfers TO the Tivo, even large HD stuff transfers with out a hitch and relativly quickly...as fast as ffmpeg can process.
Its just the TTG that does not work.
I'd rather see the brain trust here working on h264 transfers to tivo than this though. |
